Tab graduated in 1986 with a BFA from the University of Tennessee majoring in Graphic Design. He obtained the 2016 Standard Secondary Teacher Certification Association Christian Schools International Postgraduate studies:  Walden University and Fresno University. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in Graphic Design he worked in that field for ten years until God placed on his heart to pursue a full-time youth ministry position at Berean Bible Church, which he held for fifteen years. He has taught bible and history at BCS since 2006, and serves as Marketing Director. 

Julie is a gifted creator and administrative coordinator. She serves as bookkeeper at her church and is a loving mother and wife. Julie creates incredible costumes and props for Fine Arts and has been a vital part of our team. She joined us in Spring 2023, though has been considered a teammate for many years.

Amy Churchwell is a graduate of Carson Newman University with a degree in Music Education.  She and her husband Josh have two children, Levi and Zoe, attending Berean Elementary. After teaching in public schools for the past 14 years, God opened a door for her to come to Berean. She is most excited about getting to know the students and families, and seeing what the Lord has in store for the future. Her favorite verse is 1 John 3:18 “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and truth”.

Rachel graduated in 2008 from the University of Tennessee with a BA in Theatre. For the past decade she has worked locally to provide caring, Christ centered performance and education to the Knoxville community through and alongside The WordPlayers, a local Christian Theatre Company. She is excited to see what the Lord has in store for the Arts at Berean and thankful to be a part of such a rich heritage of young artists and educators. Outside and off of the stage, Rachel enjoys spending time with her Church family, hiking, camping, anything on the water and general tomfoolery with her boys, Bode and River. Mostly she loves doing all these many things with her husband Ethan, who shares similar interests.

Mrs. Alexander has been nurturing student’s creative pursuits at Berean since 2010. Her desire is for them to have a better understanding of their Creator through their daily explorations in Art. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Newcomb College of Tulane University. Mrs. Alexander and her husband Mark have four children. Three are graduate “lifers” of BCS, with the youngest following suit in May 2022. In her “spare” time, she enjoys travel, museums, baking, pottery and exploring new media.
