VOLLEYBALL
COACH LAUREN WILLIAMS
Coach Lauren has been coaching at Berean since 2022. Lauren is also one of our Elementary SOAR Teachers here at Berean. Lauren is excited to coach the young ladies at Berean and share her love for volleyball with them.
Lauren graduated from Carson-Newman University in 2021, where she got her B.S. in Special Education. Lauren also played Beach Volleyball for Carson Newman all four years. Playing there led her to her passion to coach young women and lead them with Christ’s love. Lauren is excited for her upcoming years at Berean and to see what God has in store for this volleyball program and these young ladies.
Volleyball takes place in the fall from August thru beginning of October. Tryouts are usually in May.

BOYS SOCCER
COACH AARON WRIGHT
Aaron (known to the boys as Coach Father) has worked with Berean Soccer for the last five seasons. He has a great love of the sport, for the values it can instill through hard work and grit, and through building camaraderie with young men who learn to strive for something greater than themselves. He is married to Brenna, the world's most generous and lovely woman. He is also Dad to the two best kiddos on the planet, Phoebe and Shepherd. He serves as the Rector (hence the nickname Coach Father) at Old North Abbey Anglican Church where he has been given the joy of priesting/pastoring for over ten years. His philosophy of soccer is built on sound defense, smart play, and a relentless grit. Coach Father's favorite things to do in his spare time are camping, fly fishing, and doing those things with the one's he loves.
Boys soccer takes place in the spring from February to May. Tryouts will be announced in the Winter.

COACH ERIC PALMER

Coach Eric Palmer has been the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Berean for the past five years. He is also the Athletic Director. His wife, Coach Liz, also on SOAR staff at Berean, is the team's assistant coach.

"My name is Linwood Holloway a proud husband and father, I am blessed to be the High School Basketball Coach here at Berean! This will be my 12th year coaching basketball, and my 2nd in the high school world. I am very passionate about coaching and I’m happy the Lord has placed me here as not only a coach but a mentor and man of God! I look forward to the success we will have here!"
CHEERLEADING
We cheer for the basketball season. Tryouts are in the Fall and cheering season runs November through February.
COACH KATIE BALL
Coach Katie Ball joined both the Berean school staff in 2022, and the coaching staff in 2023. Katie teaches 5th grade at Berean, and helps coach our middle and high school cheerleading teams. Katie and her husband Jacob, have 3 daughters who attend Berean: Alli, Lily, and Macy. Her oldest daughter, Alli, is on the middle school cheer team at Berean.
GOLF
Berean Golf Team is open to girls and guys and they play in the Fall.
COACH MATT DYER
Matt Dyer has been coaching in the Knoxville area for many years, but this is his 4th season coaching here at Berean. One of Matt's favorite parts of coacing at Berean is the opportunity to coach his son, Landon Dyer, who is a junior and key member of the Berean Golf team. Matt's wife, Megan, teaches at Berean in the Preschool program, and his kids all attend Berean. Matt and his family are grateful to be a part of the Berean family!
TENNIS
Berean Tennis Team is open to girls and guys, and they play in the Spring.
DAVID BELEW
Coach Belew has been coaching at Berean since 2022, but he has been a part of the tennis community in Knoxville for over 40 years. Coach Belew has 3 sons, 1 Berean graduate and 2 who still attend Berean and are members of the tennis team. Coach Belew enjoys coaching and investing in young adults and teaching them life skills through tennis.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Cross Country Team is open to girls and guys, and their meets are in the Fall.
COACH BRENNA WRIGHT
Coach Brenna Wright has served as our elementary & middle school Cross Country Coach for several years. In the fall of 2023, Brenna started our High School Cross Country team! Brenna and her husband Aaron , who serves as the High School Boys Soccer Coach, have two kids, Phoebe and Shepherd, who attend Berean. In her free time, Brenna enjoys gardening, running, camping, spending time with her family, and doing anything outdoors!

MELISSA CLAIBORNE
To join the Fishing Team (open from 7 years old and up) you need to have access to or own a boat.
Fishing takes place in the Spring. Open to girls and guys!
*We have a Fishing Club that is open to all ages which doesn't require a boat/team. They get together a few times a year to fish and fellowship! More Info
