Welcome Back to School

Across America, teachers are returning to schools and classrooms refreshed from the summer recess and prepared to begin a new school year.  No time of year is more invigorating for schools and educators.   As I talk to our principals and teachers, I am continually impressed with the energy and dedication that each of them contributes in creating an outstanding school for the families of Berean Christian School.

Whether you are new to our school this year or you are returning once again, we are excited to have you and your child as a part of our “school family.” Many of you may already be aware that Berean Christian School is a unique place for children to learn. With its warm, caring staff, and Christ-centered atmosphere, our goal is to work together to meet the spiritual and academic needs of every child.

School Year 2014-2015 promises to be another successful year.  Once again, our achievement scores indicate that student achievement is high.  This year is the scheduled visit from SACS/ACSI accreditation teams to receive a re-accreditation for another five years.  That means a lot of work on the part of our teachers and staff in preparation for the February visit.

Many of our administrators, educators and other staff members have been involved with staff development during the summer, highlighting the commitment of our educators and support staff to their own professional growth. New curriculum materials and textbooks in some subjects will greet students as they arrive next week.  We welcome some new faculty members whom you will have the opportunity to meet at our scheduled Open House times. I strongly encourage you to make plans to attend those meetings as we begin this year.

It is a great privilege we have to care for and educate the wonderful children of the BCS community. Each child is different, unique, and special, and it is our job to find new ways to challenge and stimulate them using a variety of methods and learning strategies.

I hope you will join us this year in partnership to make your child’s learning experience positive and rewarding in every way.

Students will be invited into the school each day at 7:30am and the tardy bell will ring at 8:00am. We encourage parents dropping off their children to do so as close to 7:45am as possible. Our daily dismissal time will be at 3:00pm.

Have a blessed week.
