KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) — A fifth grade teacher at Berean Christian School gave her class an assignment to write a business letter to any company or owner.
“They really got to choose whoever to do the assignment with, so it was really neat,” said Anna Spell, fifth grade teacher at Berean Christian School.
Gavin Sexton knew exactly who to pick for his assignment: President Donald Trump.
“I think he’s a really good president,” Gavin said.
A few weeks later, he got an exciting surprise in the mail.
“The first thing I saw was it said ‘from the White House,'” Gavin said. “Then I looked down and I see Donald Trump’s signature.”
President Trump left Gavin with a powerful message that he said he will always remember.
“To always think better, think bigger, and that I’m surrounded by a good family and good school,” Gavin said.
It was a feeling his teacher was proud to bring to life.
“I was excited to see that Gavin was so excited about it, and he thanked me the next day for having us write, and it makes me feel really good as a teacher,” Spell said.
