Jonathan Farra

Bio: Jon Farra completed his undergraduate degree in psychology and Bible from Columbia International University. He also obtained a TEFL certificate which allowed him to teach English in Thailand. Upon returning to the United States, Farra worked as a youth pastor while completing a Master of Education degree from CIU and pursuing supplemental coursework at the University of South Carolina. In both the areas of teaching and administration, Mr. Farra’s focus is to develop and build teams to help Berean Christian School continue to become more efficient and caring. Farra moved to Knoxville in 2005, married fellow teacher Rae Rawlings, and has since experienced the joy of becoming a father.
Pam Duncan

Bio:   Pam has worked in both public and private schools and most recently worked for eleven years at River's Edge Christian Academy.  Bill, her husband, and she have four children with their youngest, Savannah, attending BCS as a middle school student.  Her hobbies include traveling, camping, reading, and spending time with family and friends. 
Favorite Verse or Quote:  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you hope in Him, so you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 15:13. 
Holly Brummette

Bio: Holly and her husband, Mark, have four children. Wesley (26) graduated from UTK and lives in San Francisco, CA, William (25) graduated from UTK and lives in Nashville, Collin (20) is attending Johnson University, and Nathan (18) is a senior in high school. She got her teaching degree from the University of TN, Knoxville. Mrs. Brummette has taught in Oak Ridge, Knox County, and at Berean for 13 years. She also spent many years at home raising her boys while they were young.  Besides teaching, she enjoys reading, hiking, running, and spending time with friends and family. She started a relationship with Christ at age 17 and considers this her greatest treasure.  Her prayer is that others would come to know His love, grace, and peace as well. 
Liz Palmer
Title: Speech Language Pathologist and SOAR Lower Campus Coordinator/Teacher

Bio: Liz Palmer is a Speech Language Pathologist who received her Masters at The University of Tennessee.  She thanks God for giving her a passion for children, for families, and for sports!  She has a private practice and also sees students, individually, at Berean. She started volunteering with the SOAR Program in 2011 but officially joined the SOAR Team in 2016 as a coordinator and teacher. Liz also coaches the middle school girls basketball team. She and her husband, Eric, have two children, Gracie and Matthew, both students at Berean. She is so thankful and excited that God has provided her with these opportunities!

Christy Clapp

Bio:  Christy and Jody have two children, Tucker(7) and Daisy (1). She has her Master’s in Early Childhood Education from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has over twenty years experience in education including preschool, public school, and most recently being a private tutor while homeschooling her son. She feels blessed to be able to bring strategies for students with Dyscalculia to SOAR.  Growing up in church and becoming a Christian at 12, she feels that God has always been an anchor for her life. Christy loves to travel especially anywhere with a beach. She also loves photography, crafting, and being on the lake. Most importantly she treasures being with her family and friends. Her favorite verse is,

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” -Jeremiah 26:11



Katie Girt

Bio: Katie was a missionary kid who grew up in Tokyo, Japan. She received her Early Childhood Education degree and then received her Masters in Holistic Education from Johnson University. She met her husband at Johnson and they have been married for 6 years. Katie has been teaching second grade for three years at a Christian school in Indiana. God has called her back to Knoxville, and she is excited about being a part of the SOAR Team and showing the love of God to others. Besides teaching, she enjoys watching movies, playing board games, taking walks, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
