Michael Brown

Bio: After receiving a degree in Communication Arts from Bryan College, Michael Brown spent two years working as an actor/bookkeeper for the Bijou Theater in downtown Knoxville. In March of 2004, then Berean headmaster Wade Ewing contacted him about the possibility of becoming the drama teacher for the high school. Mr. Brown jumped at the chance to join in the family legacy of educating at Berean Christian School and began the next fall as the high school’s history and drama teacher. He is currently working on getting his M.A.T. in Secondary Education through Liberty University.

Sherry Crumley

Bio: Math and physics instructor Sherry Crumley received her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. She and her husband Chris have twin sons, Ryan and Alex – both are students at Berean Christian School. Mrs. Crumley enjoys tennis, swimming, and reading.

Linda Halley

Bio: After attending Cedarville University for three years, Linda Halley graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1981 with a B.S. in secondary education. She completed additional undergraduate work at the University of Valencia, Spain and Ohio State University. Mrs. Halley taught middle school at West Park Baptist Academy as well as high school Spanish, English, and family living at Temple Baptist Academy. She homeschooled her three children through the eighth grade and is currently teaching Spanish I, Spanish II, and Spanish II Honors at Berean. She has the privilege of accompanying juniors and seniors on a two week trip to Europe every other year. This is her twelfth year at Berean. In addition to teaching, Linda is the sponsor for the Student Leadership Panel and is passionate about developing “next-generation Christian leaders.” Mrs. Halley enjoys travel, theatre, reading, boating, and gardening.

Tab Jordan

Bio: After earning a degree in Art/Graphic Design, Tab Jordan worked as an art director in advertising for 11 years. During that time, he also served as a part-time youth pastor and later made a career change to full-time Youth Ministry, where he spent 16 years leading various youth events and founding a citywide home-missions service project. He presently teaches Bible and Graphic Design at Berean. Mr. Jordan’s expertise comes from the union of his art/advertising degree, his Biblical studies at Columbia International University, and his study of education methods through Walden University. Committed to guiding students to a proper relationship with God, self, and others, Mr. Jordan is actively involved on campus as Fine Arts Director and Marketing Advisor as well as Stone Gymnasium Director.  He believes that extra-curricular activities enhance the curriculum of the school, provide student participation and leadership as well as parent involvement and positive publicity. He and his wife, Becky (also a teacher at Berean) have two sons, Isaac (2012) and Noah (2015) both are graduates of Berean.

Mark Little

Mark has served Berean Christian School as a parent, coach, and teacher since 2004. He is excited to be taking this step into being Upper School Principal.  Mark enjoys coaching, pick up basketball, and wood working. He and his wife, Susan, have two children who are BCS graduates — Victoria and Grant. 


Charles McLochlin

Bio: He and his wife Melissa are newly married. They have one child, a fur baby, who is a five-year-old lab mix. Charlie loves to go hiking and spend time outdoors to observe God’s glory through His beautiful creation. One of his other hobbies is studying Hebrew and Greek, which helps him to teach the Bible in an exciting way. He also loves to play golf and baseball and is a die-hard Atlanta Braves and Falcons fan.  

Candace Marshall

Bio: Candace Marshall attended UT Knoxville, where she received her master’s degree. After spending 10 years teaching middle school math and literature in the Knox County School System, she joined BCS. Ms. Marshall enjoys using updated technology in her classes to reinforce concepts and for the presentation of daily lessons. She believes the purpose of Berean is to disciple students in academics, as well as building relationships to show them the love of Christ. “Our students strive to learn,” she states.  “It is so encouraging to see young people wanting more knowledge.  Our kids love each other, they are building relationships that will last past this school’s perspective.” Outside of school, Ms. Marshall loves spending time with her son, Sawyer.
Suzanne Newman

Bio: Suzanne holds a B.A. in English from Carson-Newman.  She began her teaching career in Grainger County where she taught for nine years before teaching at Freedom Christian Academy for the past six years.  Suzanne and her husband, Joe, have been married for 14 years and have one child, Joe Carson, who is in first grade.  Together, they serve as the Carter Middle School team leaders for YOKE Youth Ministries. In her free time, Suzanne enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with her family.
Corban Ogle

Bio: Corban attended Johnson University in Knoxville, TN where he earned a B.A. in History and Bible & Theology and an M.A. in Secondary Education. For the last 5 years, he has worked as an assistant football coach at Seymour High School in Seymour, TN. During that time he has also served as the Youth Minister of his home church in Seymour. Some of his favorite hobbies include reading and being outdoors. Corban is engaged to be married to his fiancée, Hannah, in October 2019. 

Eric Palmer

Title: Athletic Director

Bio: Eric held the same Athletic Director position in 2008-2011. He brings a wealth of experience back to Berean Christian School. Eric worked at YOKE ministry full/part-time staff, was a summer director, and led a backpacking ministry during college. He studied history and education at the University of Tennessee. He interned at Fulton High School from 1998-1999 and began teaching and coaching in Knox County Schools in 1999 at Northwest Middle. While there he worked with the track, volleyball, and coached girls’ basketball, in addition, joined the baseball coaching staff at West High School. In 2004 he moved to teach and coach full time at West High School in baseball, golf, and boys’ basketball. In 2008 he came to Berean Christian School as head boys’ basketball coach and Athletic Director, while still teaching and coaching golf at WHS. In 2011 he made the move when God called him into a full-time Church ministry at Sevier Heights Baptist Church.  Eric will teach in the high school in addition to his position as Athletic Director. Eric has a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Geography from the University of Tennessee and holds a Master’s in Secondary Education from the University of Tennessee.

Mary Randolph

Bio: Mary Randolph graduated from Columbia International University with a Bachelor of Science degree and then went on to receive her MAT. She completed her student teaching at Hilton Head Academy as well as Ben Lippen School and Covenant Christian Academy. She teaches Spanish and Bible at Berean. Mary loves UT football, hiking, running and the outdoors.
Mario Viera – Rodriguez

Bio: Mr. Mario Viera – Rodriguez was born in Manhattan, New York, but raised in Puerto Rico.  He married a beautiful and wonderful lady, Ruth, and they recently celebrated their nineteenth anniversary. He has taught Spanish for over 30 years and has a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and a Master’s Degree in Linguistics applied to Spanish.  He also graduated from the Instituto Biblico Misionero with a seminary degree and is an ordained pastor in Puerto Rico with Missionary Fountain of Salvation Churches (Iglesias Fuente de Salvacion Misionera). He now serves as the Hispanic pastor at the Christ the Rock Church of God, co-laboring and serving with Steve Gardner.  He gives thanks to God for giving him this job at Berean and the opportunity to continue to teach Spanish in the United States.

Madison Murphy

Bio: Madison attended Berean K-12 and her brother attended BCS K-12 and Sister is a junior at Berean. She was very involved as a student now returning to teach high school science: specifically, chemistry, biology, and anatomy and physiology Spent the last five years working in a hospital in the ER and ICU. Through these experiences, she decided education was really my heart, so spent last year as substitute teacher and student mentor teacher with upper campus teachers.


Carley Wright

Bio: Carley is teaching ninth-grade composition and literature and tenth-grade world literature. She graduated from Johnson University with a degree in English Literature and minor in Bible. She is currently completing her master's degree in secondary education from Grand Canyon University. She has been involved in children's ministry for the last five years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog Wu and traveling to Disney World. She follows Chicago Cubs baseball and UT athletics. Psalms 84:11 is my favorite verse.
