Lisa Blumberg

Bio: Lisa Blumberg holds a degree in elementary education with an emphasis in Bible from Cedarville University. She had the privilege of attending Christian schools from Kindergarten through college.  This is her 27th year teaching in Christian schools, and she has been at Berean Christian School since 2007. Lisa and her husband Ed have been married for 23 years and have two daughters, Betsy and Jenna. Some of her interests include reading, playing board games, swimming, watching movies, and singing on the worship team at Calvary Chapel Smoky Mountains.

Andrea Donley

Title: 1st Grade
Education: B.S. Olivet Nazarene University
Bio: Andrea Donley majored in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois, where she also received minors in TESL, Math, Language Arts and Science. She then taught 5th grade at New Life Christian Academy, and now she's here at BCS teaching first grade. Andrea enjoys soccer, reading, traveling, being with friends and family, journaling and playing games.

Amanda Hickman

Title: 3rd Grade
Education: B.A. Carson Newman University
Bio: Amanda Hickman received her teaching degree from Carson Newman University. She then went on to teach 3rd and 4th grades at Concord Christian School and then 4th and 5th grades at Shannondale Elementary School. She and her husband, Corey have a son, Benson, and a daughter, Amelia. Amanda enjoys spending time with family, being outside and shopping.

Kaley Jackson

Title: 1st Grade
Education: B.A. TN Tech University
Bio: I received my teaching degree from Tennessee Tech. University in 2015. Then I moved to Knoxville and taught first grade a Gibbs Elementary for two years before coming to Berean. My Husband and I enjoy enjoy being with our two dogs and going hiking, and we lead the kids church and youth ministry at our church. My favorite Bible verse is 2 Timothy 1:7.  



Becky Jordan

Bio: Becky Jordan earned a bachelor’s degree from Carson-Newman University and went on to complete postgraduate work at Cumberland, Walden, and Fresno University. In the 25 years she has been teaching Early Childhood/Elementary Education, she has gained valuable experience with pre-k and elementary students, as well as abused and neglected children. She believes that her purpose in Christian education is to begin building a foundation for the appropriate wealth of knowledge so students will know who and what they are intended to be within the plan of God. Mrs. Jordan and her husband, Tab — a fellow BCS teacher — have two sons, Isaac, Noah and daughter-in-law Anna (all three BCS Graduates).

Teresa Johnson

Title: 4th Grade Teacher

Bio: After graduating from Carson-Newman University with a bachelor’s degree in 1993, Teresa Johnson began teaching first grade at Sevier County Schools. She also began working on her M.Ed. at Carson-Newman. Mrs. Johnson continued to teach for seven years until she decided to stay home with her children in 2001. When her children began attending Berean, Johnson became a teacher’s aide and was later offered a position as a 5th grade teacher. She currently teaches 4th grade at Berean. Teresa accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 11 after attending a church camp. She and her husband, Joshua, have a son, Corbin, and daughter, Regan.

Amy Keller

Bio: Amy earned a degree from Cedarville University in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Bible in 2008. After graduating she had the privilege of moving to China where she taught at the International School of Qingdao for seven years. At God's leading, she returned to America a few years ago and has slowly been working her way toward the goal of living in Tennessee which she accomplished this summer. Amy enjoys cooking, crocheting, loving people, and the new joy of living near her nephews.

Renee Kohagen

Bio: Renee Kohagen earned her B.S. from Carson-Newman University and then earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University. She taught first grade in Sevier County for more than eight years. After becoming a mother, she was a full time parent until she joined the Berean Christian School family. She is certified for K-8 in Tennessee and ASCI. She leads the ladies Bible study every Sunday at First Baptist Church in Sevierville, where’s she’s been a member for many years. She is married with two daughters, Jenna and Lauren, who both attend Berean. Renee enjoys reading, photography, visiting the beach, and laughing. But most of all, she loves the Lord.

Wynter Manis

Title: Drama/Elementary Music Teacher

Education: Music Education at Carson Newman
Bio: Wynter has over 20 years experience teaching and ministering to children.  She has a passion for young people and for them to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She is excited to join Berean Christian School as the Elementary Drama teacher with the hope that each student will learn the importance of their relationship with God and with others. Some of her experiences include: Music Education at Carson Newman University, 4 years as the Children’s Ministry Director at First Baptist Church Dandridge, 4 years as the Bible Study Coordinator for the TN Baptist Convention for IMPACT camps and camp speaker for various children’s camps. She has been married for 18 years and has two children, Maese (2017 BCS) and Dodge (First grade at BCS).  Favorite Verse or Quote: For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. (2 Tim 1:7)

Jessica Marrero

Bio: Jessica Marrero earned her B.S. of Human Growth and Learning with Cum Laude honors from Tusculum College and is certified to teach grades K-8. Jessica taught in the Knox County School system for 3 years before joining Berean in 2015. She is married with two sons, Cruz and Alec. Jessica is a member of Lyons Creek Baptist Church. She also loves to run in local races — 5Ks, 10Ks and 1/2 marathons.

Frank (Win) Weldon

Bio: After Win Weldon earned his bachelor degrees from William Carey and Frostburg State, he went on the earn his masters at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Win has taught a variety of grades in several Christian schools and has been involved in children’s ministry and music. His passion is teaching, but he also enjoys walking, cooking, playing musical instruments, and spending time with his family. He and and his wife, Penny, are parents to Frank and Phoebe. Win also teaches music lessons with The Studio at Berean.

Cheryl Wilson

Bio: Cheryl Wilson earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and attended continuing education classes at Regent University. Mrs. Wilson has ministered to preschool and primary aged school children for over 15 years. She previously taught kindergarten and currently serves as a teacher’s aide. She and her husband, Fahron, have four children, all graduates of BCS. Cheryl enjoys camping and reading.

Terri Lakin

Bio: Terri Lakin received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Tennessee. She has also completed graduate studies from the University of San Diego, Cumberland University and Tennessee Tech. Mrs. Lakin taught at Berean for 24 years before becoming elementary principal. She considers it a privilege to be a part of the Berean family. She loves playing with her grandchildren, reading, and being a pastor’s wife.

Dacia Humphries

Bio: My husband Derrick and I chose Berean Christian Preschool for our daughter Delaney in 2012. We desired for her to be in a safe place where she would be able to received a God-centered education. Little did we know God had chosen Berean Christian School for me as well. I became a part of the preschool staff in the Spring of  2013.  I have taught  PreK 2, PreK 3 and I am now a part of the Kindergarten/SOAR staff. We have been exponentially blessed by the faithful and loving staff. We thank God for allowing our whole family to be apart of the Berean Christian family.
