Spirit Week 2014!
This past week, the School Board approved next year’s tuition rates. Over the past year, we have expanded our technology offerings in every area of the school. None of these improvements come without costs. As we prepare to enter our 37nd year as a school, we look forward to expanding our offerings to students on a broader scale through the expansion of our fine arts program. Each of these improvements has been essential if we were to continue to provide you excellent educational options.
Our faculty and staff are second to none in this city. I am amazed at the quality of teachers we have and their commitment to the preparation of your children academically, emotionally, and most importantly, spiritually. It is the faculty that makes the school. While we have been making improvements to various areas of our school in the past four years, the faculty was losing ground.
The cost to provide this excellent education has continued to rise rapidly. We run a very frugal operation and will continue to do so, but we are equally committed to quality in the product we offer to you as parents. The foundational component of that product is the faculty at Berean Christian School. To maintain the quality of education you expect and to keep the faculty God has brought to us, the School Board believed it would require the following tuition rates for the coming year:
Grade Tuition 12 Month Rate
Kindergarten $6,024 $502.00
1st-2nd $6,216 $518.00
3rd-5th $7,248 $604.00
Middle School $7,188 $599.00**
High School $8,040 $670.00**
SOAR $15,240 $1,270.00
** The middle & high school tuition does not include textbooks as parents will purchase those individually. Therefore, the tuition rate reflects the removal of textbooks costs.
As the public school system continues to deteriorate more and more, people are beginning to seek alternatives in the private Christian school sector. Because of the increase in interest, I encourage you to register your children soon so that we can make sure to hold your seat. The registration fee will increase from $55 to $155 after March 1st. As you know, we are doing registration online this year through the Sycamore program. You have received instructions about this, and some of you have expressed needing help in completing this process. Should you run into a problem, simply call the office at 521-6054, ext. 101. We will be glad to help you. For those of you who have already registered, if you desire to apply for financial aid, I encourage you to submit your financial aid request as soon as possible using the FAST button on the admissions page located on our school website www.bereanchristian.org. Go to the Tuition & Financial Aid link found on the left side menu of the page. The deadline to apply for financial aid is April 15.
Thank you for your continued prayers for the school. Please be assured that we, as a faculty and staff, are praying for our families as well. God is doing great things in these days. I pray that He will be glorified in all that we do and that you might know what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward you who believe (Eph. 1:19).
